Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) is the medical field involved in the diagnosis, conservative treatment and rehabilitation of locomotor system diseases. Rehabilitation is provided both in the inpatient and outpatient setting in order to maintain the highest possible patient capacity. PMR is used to treat patients with physiologic or anatomic insufficiency due to congenital or acquired disease, reduce their dependencies and increase quality of life. Within this scope; PMR is concerned with the primary or complementary treatment of all rheumatic, neurologic, orthopedics, cardiovascular and algological diseases that cause pain, loss of function and disruption of quality of life by utilizing physical medicine modalities, medical and manipulative treatments in patients of all ages.
