Our department consists of two specialized clinics. While routine tooth extractions and minor surgical procedures are performed in our outpatient clinic, more extensive operations such as preprosthetic surgery, dental implant surgery, sinus lifting, augmentation techniques, and biomaterial applications are conducted in our minor operating theater. We provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for oral and maxillofacial diseases, including cysts, tumors, and the extraction of impacted third molars (wisdom teeth). Our clinic also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders. Complex operations requiring general anesthesia, such as orthognathic surgery, are performed in the general operating theaters of our University’s Faculty of Medicine Hospital.
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology is an academic unit dedicated to the systematic examination of intraoral and maxillofacial tissues and organs. We interpret all physiological and pathological changes clinically and radiographically to create precise treatment plans. In our Oral Diagnosis clinic, we record the primary complaints, existing medical conditions, and medications of patients visiting our Faculty of Dentistry for the first time. Following detailed intraoral and extraoral examinations, we utilize intraoral, panoramic, or tomographic imaging in our Radiology clinic. Based on these clinical and radiographic evaluations, personalized treatment plans are developed and explained to our patients.
Our department focuses on the etiology, histopathology, microbiology, and clinical diagnosis of pulp and periapical diseases. Clinical applications include vital pulp therapies, root canal treatments, surgical or non-surgical endodontic retreatment, management of dental trauma, regenerative endodontic procedures, and internal bleaching of endodontically treated teeth. Over the last two decades, the integration of advanced technologies and dental operating microscopes has allowed our specialists to gain deeper insights into root canal systems, ensuring faster and more effective clinical outcomes.
Orthodontics is the specialized branch of dentistry concerned with the treatment of malocclusions (misaligned bites) resulting from crowded teeth, jaw discrepancies, or both. Treatment may focus solely on dental alignment or involve the management of facial growth, often referred to as "dentofacial orthopedics." While orthodontic treatment is frequently sought for aesthetic reasons to improve facial harmony, its primary goal is often to provide a functional and stable occlusion. Additionally, we perform combined orthodontic-surgical treatments for patients with cleft lip and palate or severe skeletal jaw deformities.
This department focuses on treating tooth loss caused by caries (decay) or trauma, as well as managing developmental and hereditary discolorations or structural anomalies. We also emphasize preventative measures to stop decay before it starts. Our department is at the forefront of "Adhesive, Aesthetic, and Cosmetic Dentistry," concepts that have evolved significantly in recent years. Our academic curriculum and clinical practice cover the signs and symptoms of caries, modern filling materials, and advanced restorative techniques.
Utilizing the latest technological advancements, our department provides comprehensive solutions for missing teeth. Our services range from conventional crowns and bridges to advanced implant-supported prostheses and maxillofacial prosthetics for complex oral and facial reconstructions.
Periodontology is the branch of dentistry dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the supporting hard and soft tissues of teeth and implants. We prioritize patient education for the prevention and maintenance of long-term oral health. Our clinic features six specialized dental units, two of which are isolated for the treatment of patients with infectious diseases. Advanced procedures, including resective and reconstructive periodontal surgery, periodontal plastic surgery, and dental implant placements, are performed in our dedicated surgical suite.
Our department specializes in the oral and dental health of children aged 0-12. We focus on preventive dentistry, oral hygiene education, and the treatment of dental trauma or missing teeth. For our younger or more anxious patients, we offer comprehensive dental treatments, including fillings and extractions, under general anesthesia to ensure a comfortable and stress-free experience.
