DOES PROPRANOLOL TREATMENT
AVOID SCARS OF LESIONS?
The scars usually cannot be treated with drugs. Propranolol does not
avoid these scars and it cannot be used for the treatment of existing scars.
If haemangioma grows rapidly, becomes infected and/or bleeds, they usu-
ally resolve with a big scar tissue later.
The most important effect of this drug is the prevention of growth of these
lesions with early treatment. The drug is more effective and the treatment
period is short in early stages.
The patient has a small spot in his lower lip when
he was 2 days-old. It grew rapidly in 4 months.
There was no bleeding or infection. They found our
clinic in Baskent University via internet.
The response was great at 14 months from the initiation
of treatment.
