HOW LONG IS THE TREATMENT
WITH PROPRANOLOL?
There is no evidence yet for optimal treatment duration with proprano-
lol. In our clinical practice, we tend to stop treatment after 6 months if
the treatment is started before three months of age. For some patients,
it is prolonged to 8 months. In the last years we have no patients having
treatment more than a year. In children with late treatment, the treat-
ment period differs acoording to the response
The patient had a lesion at birth in his back. It grew with time,
had an inflammation and crusting, and purulent drainage inc-
reased. They were using a topical cream for infection. He was
unable to lie on his back.
The wound became better with a residual scar in third month
of treatment. The treatment was stopped early by the parents
