DO HAEMANGIOMAS RESOLVE

SPONTANEOUSLY?

The answer of the question is yes in general. The problem is what

the doctors did not mention is ‘what is resolving or healing’. The hae-

mangiomas grow until the age 1, remain stable between 12-18 months

and begin to get smaller later. This period goes until 9 years of age.

After then, there will not be any change in the residual lesion. They

leave scar tissue according to their final size and besides bleeding or

infection will have an influence on the scarring. Most of them need

surgical reconstruction.
